Marko Nicovic was born in Kolasin, Montenegro, Yugoslavia, on May 10th, 1946. He has graduated from the Faculty of Law – University of Belgrade, where he has also achieved his Master of Arts degree. He has graduated at the International Police Academy at FBI (DEA) in USA. Marko Nicovic was engaged as the High Police Inspector at the Homicide Division, Belgrade Police. He has been awarded with National Service Medal for his contribution to the Country's security. Afterwards, he was appointed as the Head of the Narcotics Squad. For a long period of time he was the Chief of the Belgrade City Police and he occupied this position until the beginning of the Civil War in Yugoslavia. Currently he works in Belgrade as Attorney at Law. He is a Member of Attorney Board Association. Marko Nicovic is Member of the Board of Directors - International Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association (INEOA).
Marko Nicovic has been active in Sport for the past 45 years (he started practicing Karate in Paris in 1966). He is the black belt holder 7 DAN in the JFK (Japan Karate Federation Wado-kai) and 8 DAN in the WKF (World Karate Federation) and black belt 3 DAN in Judo. Marko Nicovic was the Member of the National Senior Team from 1969 to 1973. Marko Nicovic has been the member of the Presidency of the Yugoslav Olympic Committee. He won numerous National and International medals as competitor.
Marko Nicovic is the President of the Serbian Karate Union. He has greatly contributed to the development of the Karate Sport in Yugoslavia and Serbia, as well as to Karate in Switzerland, Hungary, Germany, and Netherlands. He speaks fluently English, French and Spanish and is an Author of the three books on Karate. He has also published two books on Narcotics.
Currently is at the position of the President of the World Karate Confederation (WKC). In 1994, he received Special Award from the Japanese Prime Minister Mr. Ryotaro Hashimoto for the development of Karate Sport in the World.
